Java Developer

This position belongs to a development team that develops and supports various applications mainly in the Foreign Exchange and Money Market business. The incumbent will be responsible to develop cost effective and efficient applications or prototypes of low to medium complexity. He/She must be able to interact with various people like Business Analysts, Users, and Production Support Team. It is essential that the incumbent to be proactive, eager to learn, and to have a 'Can Do' attitude.

• Develop cost effective applications, provide technical specs and participate in system designs
• Provide technical support to applications in Production and User Acceptance Testing
• Participate in systems implementation by performing shakedown testing.
• Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self teach new technologies.

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• At least 2 year experience developing in a Unix Environment (preferably Solaris)
• Strong knowledge and experience with Oracle SQL and Java technology, UNIX Shell scripting
• Good working knowledge in object oriented programming
• Knowledge and experience with C, C++ will be an asset.
• Familiarity with Web technology(like HTML, JSP, and Struts) and CORBA technology will be an asset
• Good Analytical skills
• Some familiarity with Network, Lan and TCP/IP concepts, security and communication protocol
• Disciplined in development methodology and software development technologies and concepts
• Troubleshooting and problem solving skills
• Must be flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment
